Slake Durability Apparatus GENERAL INFORMATION Slake Durability Apparatus is used in simulated weathering tests to determine abrasion resistance in wetting and drying cycles of shale and similar soft rocks in embankments and other construction-related applications. Specification Accessories Model Standard Specification The test drum is made from a 2.0 mm wire mesh of unobstructed length of 100 mm and diameter 140 mm with a solid fixed base. The drum is able to withstand a temperature of 105’C. The drum have a solid removable lid. Water Tanks made of acrylic plastic can be coupled to the motor shafts with the help of couplings. Guide rails are provided to keep the water tank assembly in position. A motor drive, capable of rotating the drum at a speed of 20 rev/min, the speed will be held constant to within 5 percent for a period of 10 minutes.
